In our high energy, high achieving modern society, emotions have taken a back seat. People do not reveal their true emotions in their daily lives; they hide them, even from themselves. Human emotions are energy, and that this energy has the capacity to overwhelm the brain. In other words, when a person is emotional, the energy of those emotions confounds their ability to synchronize the factual data they have collected over their lifetime with the relevant logic they possess. A person whose brain is overflowing with feelings says in hindsight: "Where was my brain?" or, "I lost my head!" The flow of their movement was interrupted and it took some time before they were able to regain it. This is not emotionally intelligent behavior.
Emotional Intelligence is the quality and efficiency of perception and reaction, and one is able to develop it. It is the ability to perceive and react in effective and qualified ways in unfamiliar emotional environments. When a person can lead the way for themselves emotionally - take responsibility and know how to respond to situations as they occur, that person can be said to be emotionally intelligent.
Development of Emotional Intelligence enables the energy of one's feelings to be intuitively and more effectively implemented in real time. Improving one's ability to use emotional energy intelligently increases the power, strength and flexibility of reactions in the environment.
his original methodology was designed by the author from a decade of personal coaching in Emotional Intelligence in Israel. Four years ago, the idea of developing the ability for Online Self Improvement of Emotional Intelligence was born. Trust4emotionS is an online website where people can choose one of ten programs dealing with personal or work life issues in order to upgrade their emotional intelligence.
It is the ability for language that sets humans apart from animals. Humans are more developed, they think, imagine, collect knowledge and personal logic patterns, and use words and language to express themselves. With words, the human being explains present reality to him or herself. But in stressful situations where he or she feels a multiplicity of emotions, the human being is not trained to translate those emotional energies into words.
According to empirical research, people are not aware of the vast array of words that exist to describe human emotions. They may know the meanings of all these words, but just intellectually, through literature. The average individual can count approximately only 20 words to express their own emotions through personal experience. According to professional linguists, Elad Velickson, the Hebrew dictionary has over 800 words to describe emotions. On this basis, Trust4emotionS developed 10 courses that make it easy for an individual to express and understand his or her emotional experience by having more words at his or her disposal to describe subjective feelings.
Three hundred years has passed since the Industrial Revolution, and the development of emotional education continues to be neglected. In fact, emotions have been systematically denied and suppressed. Modern man's physique and intellectual capacity are far more developed than his emotional system. Modern man has lost the ability to rely on his intuition and this lack of balance distorts self-satisfaction.
The Trust4emotionS training improves one's success by encouraging the development of intuitive and mature responses which enhance one's self-confidence to succeed when challenged. Professor Peter Salovey, psychologist and Head of Yale College, and the founder of the term, "Emotional Intelligence," has stated that there is a hidden human need to know and understand one's personality.
In 2002, Professor Daniel Kahneman received the Nobel Prize for Economics for his research on decision-making during uncertainty. Kahneman, along with Tversky (1979) suggested Prospect Theory in the place of Benefit Theory. Rational Benefit Theory explained how people should make decisions: collating information, formulating options, considering different option preferences, choosing an option. Prospect Theory outlined how people actually make decisions in uncertain situations.
Prospect Theory proved not only do people behave irrationally when they are trying to make decisions in an uncertain environment but that irrationality is systemic and predictable. Prospect Theory showed how peoples' decisions in uncertain circumstances are completely different from those suggested by other standard economic models. People in uncertain circumstances decide, for better or for worse, not according to straight logic but according to their emotions. Prospect theory didn't offer solutions as to how people can change patterns of making bad choices to patterns that make good ones.
Inspired by Prospect theory Trust4emotionS created a practical methodology consisting of 10 self-improvement web programs that train people to change from making bad choices to making good ones. Trust4emotionStakes Kahneman and Tversky’s Prospect Theory a step further, by creating sophisticated yet simple computer programs to develop the ability to increase good decisions and reduce the number of bad decisions in uncertain circumstances.
The History of Transferring Personal Coaching From an Emotional Intelligence Expert to Self-Improvement by The Computer
Focus Use of computers to monitor personal emotions upgrades the personalized, one-on-one coaching method of self-improvement of emotional intelligence, and by opening the methodology up to the global e-commerce marketplace, multiplies the number of people able to benefit from it. This innovative web methodology is based on a database of words that define emotional and logical thinking. Software collects the trainee's responses as a factor of emotional events, and the trainee is then able to analyze those factors according to his or her unique logic. The course produces objective reports so that each trainee can understand himself or herself better.
The Relative Advantage of T4E
The advantages of using the computer to improve Emotional Intelligence as opposed to face-to-face training are as follows: The trainee uses a device (computer) to investigate his or her emotional energy without having to leave a comfort zone. The computer is objective, which frees the trainee to express him or herself openly, without fear of judgments. The trainee saves time by not having to travel to the therapist/trainer. Environmental disturbances such as weather, transportation, and human interaction on the way to the trainer are minimized.
It can sometimes be difficult to find a therapist to trust and feel comfortable with, shopping around for one can be disheartening and expensive. Obstacles originating from the personal and emotional condition of the therapist/trainer are also eliminated. Training over the internet is cost effective for trainees. The computer’s objectivity helps the trainee understand his or her feelings in order to develop, by him or herself, the logical connections to his or her own environment. Consequently he or she can respond more effectively in times of stress, uncertainty, emotional storms, frustration and emotional blocks.
The Technology of T4E Based on Theories that Lead In Scientific Behavior
Theorists such as Professors Solovey and Mayer (1990) and Kahenman (1997) have shown that intelligent use of emotional energy positively energizes the decision-maker's vitality and improves his or her memory and logic, spontaneity and authenticity. The Trust4emotionS programs provide a response to the human need for change. Trust4emotionS teaches individuals how to develop their intuition, and instead of making wrong decisions, learn to make right decisions in real time. The program was created to build a responsible and steady method of improving the strength and flexibility of people in emotionally charged situations in real time during periods of uncertainty.
The project is a web based program of self-improvement of emotional intelligence available to interested individuals, and can be carried out in the comfort of their own homes. Trust4emotionS trains people to manage their emotions without the need of, or reliance on outsiders. The ten programs are divided into two groups:Group A. Five personal well-being courses devoted to family, social and personal life.Group B. Five business oriented well-being courses devoted to creating success in the workplace.
The uniqueness of this online product lies in its simplicity and originality. Instead of denying his or her feelings, the trainee using Trust4emotionS will learn to recognize feelings and understand him or herself during emotional moments. Instead of judging people in the reality of the present, either positively or negatively, right or wrong, the trainee teaches himself or herself to think, "What do I feel?" The program offers a list of emotions for the trainee to choose from.
Even though this new technique of building a list of emotions doesn't look like much, in reality, in the practice of this training, the trainee who chooses emotions from the list to describe his or her precise experience will undergo a release of emotional pressure. This release enables enormous amounts of energy to be transformed into effective action in the form of good decisions, as based on Prospect Theory (Kahneman&Tversky, 1979). This is an important and dramatic innovation in the field of self improvement. Development of the method, followed by the completion of an educational course was conducted at the Merhavim Institute in Israel (Sheleg, 1999), based on the personal knowledge and experience of hundreds of trainees in Emotional Intelligence.
Trust4emotionS is a response to a demand. The modern individual wants to develop in various ways and in particular, emotionally. This educational product is low priced, simple and easy to use. We are talking about a new approach, not known to the wider public. This is why market penetration and sophisticated public relations is required. One idea is to approach cellular companies that supply portable internet services to include Trust4emotionS as part of their service, since emotional training does not require you to be beside a home computer or laptop. It gives the opportunity of training in pressured situations in real time. In the future, physical and intellectual development will be easier to achieve. If humans continue to refuse to develop their emotional intelligence to match these levels, this lack of balance will increase personal, interpersonal and collective crises. Developing knowledge of emotions will be critical for effective living and communication
